The Model 426 rode on a 126″ wheelbase, and this example is said to have received bodywork before it was repainted black under previous ownership. Features include body-color bumpers, a brake light, rumble seat steps, dual side luggage doors, glass wind wings, a spotlight, drum-style headlight buckets, and a polished radiator surround with a Boyce MotoMeter thermometer. The tan soft top features a glass rear window and is mounted over a wood frame.
The body-color steel disc wheels feature Packard hubcaps and are mounted with bias-ply whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel is mounted out back. The car features semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners, and braking is handled by four-wheel mechanical drums. The brakes are said to squeak if the car is not driven regularly.
The cabin features a bench seat trimmed in black upholstery along with matching carpets and door and kick panels. The rumble seat features matching upholstery and can be seen in the gallery.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a painted dashboard housing a barrel-type speedometer along with a Waltham clock, an ammeter, and gauges for oil pressure and fuel level, the latter of which does not work. The speedometer cable is said to be broken, and the five-digit odometer shows 700 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 288ci inline-six features a single carburetor that is said to have been rebuilt under the seller’s ownership. A replacement distributor was also installed along with fresh fluids.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission.
