The
Aviation Maintenance Technician/IA contributes to aircraft equipment safety by
maintaining high standards of workmanship and inspection standards. They are
required to inspect, test, and repair aircraft systems, component parts, etc.
and certify accomplishment of their work. IFT AMT’s may be required to train
less experienced employees.

1.
Performs duties assigned to him by lead or DOM.

2.
Will use IA to accomplish Annual Inspections, major repairs and
alterations.

3.
Update Airworthiness Directives and perform searches.

4.
Letting your direct supervisor know of any AOG or airworthiness
issues found during inspection.

5.
Will assist or take lead in training of new mechanics.

6.
Repairs, replaces, and inspects aircraft structures and functional
components including rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulics.

7.
Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service
bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of
repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

8.
Examines engines and propeller systems for normal operation and
makes engines/propeller adjustments as required.

9.
Tests engine operation to locate source of malfunction. Capable of
engine and airframe system troubleshooting.

10.
Must
possess necessary skills to remove engine from aircraft if needed. Inspects
parts for wear, damage, defects and serviceability.

11.
Adjusts,
repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.

12.
Performs
miscellaneous duties such as weight and balance, aircraft servicing to include
changing engine oil and filters, cleaning screens, lubricating moving parts,
and checking brakes.

13.
Complete
paperwork for check list, work orders and coordinate with the parts
tech/paperwork administrator in the maintenance department. All parts must be accounted for.

14.
Ensure
that the hangar workshops and other areas are maintained in an orderly manner.

15.
Assist
the Director of Maintenance in maintaining technical manuals, Safety Data
Sheets (SDS) in a current status (check to make sure we are up-to date with the
current year/revision in each manual.

16.
Maintain
an adequate tool kit (mechanical tools (i.e. wrench, sockets, screw drivers, etc.)

17.
Other
duties as assigned.

possess A&P and preferred IA or capability of getting an IA

Knowledge
of current and federal aviation’ regulations that IASCO operates under (FAR 91
& FAR 43)

Knowledge
of all aspects flight operations.

4.
Ability
to use computer software, Microsoft Office programs, Aviation base software Outlook
and Internet.

Ability
to express oneself clearly and concisely in written and spoken English.

6.
Ability
to understand verbal and written instructions to facilitate the decision-making
process and safety.

Ability
to communicate effectively with IASCO
Flight Training students, management and staff.

Ability
to plan and prioritize work efficiently.

Able

High School
Diploma or equivalent, current A&P License and 3 to 5 years’ previous
aircraft maintenance experience preferred. A current Inspection Authorization.

COMMENTS:

Diverse environments
(buildings are forced air cooled and heated), mild/moderate outdoor exposure to
dust, pollen, Avgas and other fumes. Moderate to heavy changes in altitude and
temperature and heavy exposure to noise from aircraft engines, and moderate
exposure to radiation from the sun.
