Early
Childhood Educator (Assistant, Supervisor, Worker)

Hours of
work: Full-Time and Part-Time

Role: The
Early Childhood Educator provides excellent service, quality programming and
care to participants and families. We provide quality care to children ages 12
months to 5 year's and is currently seeking motivated certified Early Childhood
Educators to be a part of our growing team.

The Early
childhood Educator is responsible for supporting children in safe and enriching
daily activities with a primary focus on implementation of the Alberta
Curriculum Framework and engaging in daily practices that exceed standards as
required by the ELCC Grant priorities, Provincial Licensing Standards and
Accreditation standards.

Standards
of Performance:

Interaction with children

* Create a warm and welcoming environment,

* Ongoing involvement with the children (interacting and
playing with them),

* Use a variety of positive guidance techniques to guide
and redirect children,

* Encourage self-help skills,

Meal and Snacks time:

* Sit with the children when work tasks permit,

* Engage in pleasant conversation,

* Encourage children to make healthy choices (do not
dictate what a child should eat and in

any particular order as long as the choices
are healthy)

* Promote table manners and clean up.

Work Ethic:

* Arrive on time and prepared to work at the beginning of
scheduled shifts and breaks,

* Reliable in attendance,

Professionalism with
Parents:

* Greet Parents by name and/or eye contract,

* Display positive, appropriate interactions with
parents,

* Available and approachable with parents,

* Listen and respond well to parents needs
feedback,

With co-workers:

*Solve conflicts independently,

* Avoid gossip,

* While in ratio, personal conversations are minimal,

* Work well as a team member,

Qualifications:

• Education/ Certifications/
  Credentials/ Professional Registration
• Certification as a Child
  Development Assistant (level 1),
• Child Development Worker
  (level 2)
• Child Development Supervisor
  (level 3)
• Standard or Child Care First
  Aid with CPR level C
• Child Intervention Check
• Police Security Clearance
  with Vulnerable Sector search.

Base
Hourly wage:

$15.00/hour,
plus Accreditation funding top up $2.14 = $17.14 Child Development Assistant

$17.50/
hour, plus Accreditation funding top up $4.05 = $20.55 Child Development
Worker

$19.00/hour, plus
Accreditation funding top up $6.62 = $25.62 Child Development
Supervisor
