Austin Voices for Education and Youth (AVEY) is looking for a Community School Coordinator/Community Organizer for AISD community school(s) in North Austin. The position works with the Burnet Family Resource Center to provide wraparound supports for Burnet families, increase parent and community involvement in the campus, and strengthen partnerships with local organizations and agencies. The Community School Coordinator also works with teachers and campus leaders to improve the functioning of the campus in all areas.

Job Requirements for the Community School Coordinator/Community Organizer include:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) required.
- Experience working with social services and community organizations
- Experience in organizing community partnerships and volunteers
- Fluency in English and Spanish, including speaking, reading and writing, preferred
- Positive attitude; enthusiastic; energetic
- Some experience working in a school setting preferred
- Some experience working with adult education classes, including ESL, preferred
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Must be able to respond quickly to communication, and be an effective communicator with clients, staff, volunteers, and community members/partners
- Effective written communicator, able to produce reports and evaluation documents
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also to initiate projects and work without close supervision
- Computer skills include word processing, ability to produce flyers and newsletters, ability to manage large databases and spreadsheets.
- Punctual, hard working, creative thinking, with a high level of integrity.
