Mean Girls, the 2004 cult classic film comedy written by multiple Emmy winner Tina Fey (Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), is now a viciously funny Broadway musical. The story follows the plot of the film with teenager Cady returning to the US after growing up on the African savannah and having to deal with a different type of wildlife — The Plastics, a cutthroat clique in her new high school headed by the charming but devious Regina George. When Cady schemes to topple Regina from her perch, she learns a queen bee can sting. Featuring a book by Fey, music by her husband, Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde), Mean Girls is directed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (Aladdin, The Book of Mormon) and produced by SNL’s Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, and Paramount Pictures.
