The
Killing & Dying of Our Country and Its Youth!
1.5
million people in the United
States have died from drug overdoses since the 1980s.
The ‘War on Drugs’ began in the 1970s, by then President Nixon! Drug use
exploded in the 1980s causing the humongous turmoil in the lives of Americans.
What
number of people have died in the USA since the 1980s, when Nancy Regan
introduced her, "Just Say No to Drugs" Campaign?
Since
Nancy Reagan introduced the "Just Say No" campaign in the early
1980s, approximately 1.5 million Americans have died from drug
overdoses.
Total
drug overdose deaths in the United States have seen a dramatic escalation since
1980’s.
The
number of lives that have been ruined by Drugs of those 1.5 million who didn't
die? While deaths are the most visible metric, the "War on
Drugs" and the later addiction crisis have caused profound social and
economic devastation for tens of millions who survived.
How
many Americans have been incarcerated for their use of drugs by criminal
charges?
Since
the launch of the "War on Drugs" in the early 1980s, over 31
million people have been arrested on
drug-related charges in the United States.
While
the exact cumulative number of unique individuals incarcerated specifically for
"use" (possession) over this entire 45-year period is not centrally
tracked as a single total, the following data points illustrate the scale of
drug-related incarceration:
Incarceration
Growth and Capacity
- Total Drug
Incarcerations: As of early 2026, roughly half a
million people are behind bars in the U.S. for a drug offense on
any given night, compared to an estimated 41,000 in 1980. - Historical
Surge: Between 1980 and 2008, harsher penalties led
to a 1,216% increase in the state prison population for
drug offenses alone. - Prison
Admissions: Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, more
than 100,000 drug offenders were admitted to prison
annually. By 1998, new admissions of drug offenders had already
exceeded 1.5 million since 1980.
Federal
vs. State Statistics (2026 Estimates)
- Federal
Prisons: About 46% of the federal
inmate population is currently serving time for drug-related crimes. - State Prisons: Approximately 171,300 individuals are
currently sentenced to state prisons for drug crimes. - Total
"Behind Bars": Combined with local jails,
about 1 in 5 incarcerated people (approximately 360,000
to 450,000 individuals) is serving time for a drug charge.
For
further historical context and data visualization, the Prison Policy
Initiative provides comprehensive reports on how drug laws impact
the Mass Incarceration
"Whole Pie":
Can it really be true that most people
in jail are legally innocent? How much of mass
incarceration is a result of the war on drugs, or the profit motives of private
prisons? Have popular reforms really triggered a crime wave? These
essential questions are harder to answer than you might expect. The various
government agencies involved in the criminal legal system collect a lot of
data, but very little is designed to help policymakers or the public understand
what’s going on. The uncertainty that results muddies the waters around our
society’s use of incarceration, giving lawmakers and lobbyists the opportunity
to advance harmful policies that do not make us safe. As criminal legal system
reforms become increasingly central to political debate — and are even
scapegoated to resurrect old, ineffective “tough on crime” policies — it’s more
important than ever that we get the facts straight and understand the
big picture.
Further complicating matters is the
fact that the U.S. doesn’t have one criminal legal system;
instead, we have thousands of federal, state, local, and tribal systems.
Together, these systems hold nearly 2 million people in 1,566
state prisons, 98 federal prisons, 3,116 local jails, 1,277 juvenile
correctional facilities, 133 immigration detention facilities, and 80 Indian
country jails, as well as in military prisons, civil commitment centers, state
psychiatric hospitals, and prisons in the U.S. territories — at a system-wide
cost of at least $182 billion each year.
Countless
lives have been destroyed because of the use of drugs.
The
War on Drugs cannot be won by saying “NO”!
The
number of deaths from drug overdoses in the United States since World
War II is significantly higher than the total number of U.S. military
casualties (deaths) in all wars during the same period.
There
is unprecedented wealth which is made with the creating and selling of these
life-threatening drugs. It takes a “Real War on Drugs” to stop the creation,
selling, consumption, the killing and destruction of our country’s future
leaders!
In
countries like China, there is very little drug use as the penalty for such use
is Death.
Our
Enemies/or Competitors, Drug Lords and Criminals have found such an effortless
way to destroy our Country, Our Heritage and It’s future Leaders with the use
of Illicit Drugs destroying the lives of future generations!
By
enticing, luring, those who are stressed, enraged with life, unhappy with the
problems of the heart, you know, love, marriage, their jobs and those who have
simply lost their way in life!
All
these problems lead to drug use, alcohol and ultimately the ‘Death of the Body
& Soul”!
Drug
& Alcohol Rehab work for some but there are always relapses.
We
must understand stopping drug use with so called helpful drugs does not always
work, and you are trading one drug for another! Bad or helpful drugs are still
destroying your body and your one physical life that you have been born into on
this earth!
Life
comes at us hard and fast. When it does, we are at times caught in a vulnerable
position where we grasp at anything that might change it or make it easier to
cope with such as Drugs or Alcohol!
When
there is something lacking in your life, to save it you must search your soul
to find out the cause of why you turn to drugs. Deep rooted problems take time,
focus, and much ‘Thought’ to uncover, discover why you have these feelings, the
need of drugs or even alcohol!
In
this world of physical labor, those jobs working in heated or freezing
temperatures, rain or snow, your body needs reprieve at times to be able to go
back and function at your job on another day.
Legally
prescribed pain, muscle relaxers or those over-the-counter medications are
helpful at times when we simply have overdone it or had minor injuries. The key
words are ‘At Times’, but not on a regular basis as they destroy your kidneys,
liver and even affect the heart!
If you
turn to drugs to feel good that is the wrong choice as it will undoubtedly
disintegrate your ability to think and diminish your body’s ability to remain
healthy in a world filled with disease & evil paths that one can foolishly
take because of the influence of drugs or even alcohol. There is a difference
between using drugs or alcohol in a social gathering, at a local pub and even
at home. A Clint Eastwood Movie Line says it all; “A Man Has Got To Know His
Limitations”, otherwise havoc, stupidity and chaos take over the once
well-mannered human being be it man or woman! I use both words to describe the
influence of both drugs and alcohol when its use goes beyond its original
intention for a little relaxation.
- Havoc: Often
suggests serious, widespread destruction, damage, or ruin,
like a hurricane causing havoc or a virus wreaking havoc on a network. - Chaos: More
about a state of total lack of order, complete confusion, or a
jumble, like a chaotic meeting or a chaotic pile of papers.
This
one physical life must be used wisely; you must give thought as to how you will
help your body keep itself in a healthy manner! Your brain, your thought
process should be the ‘Good Steward, the Good Shepard’, treating your ‘Body’,
as a Sacred Temple, being careful of what you put into it and guarding it
against known destructive activities and forces!
This
is just a thought, a thought that has saved, changed and reconstructed so many
lives. Lives that have been brought from the depths of living in a hell on
earth, coming out of the darkness of the One’s Dying & lost Soul, to the
Brightness of the Beautiful Sunshine of a New Day, a Rebirth of Life, claiming
your Lost Soul as now not lost but ‘Found’!
Everyone
suffers in this life that we have been given. There are those that suffer more
than others, but suffering is suffering, regardless of its intensity.
Suffering
is part of this earthly life that God has created and given to us as we are all
God’s Children!
You
might think that no one has problems as you have. Did you know that Jesus
Christ who was born into this world to save it was faced with the treachery of
both Hell (Satan) and Earth (Man} because of what His mission in His life was
to be!
Think of
Jesus as a bridge between us and God. Jesus came into the
world to show us how to live right, love each other, and really get what God’s
all about. He was all about love, forgiveness, and helping others. It’s about
Second Chances in life, to be forgiven for our wrongdoings (Sins) and start fresh.
A rebirth, as a shower cleansing our body and uncovering and bringing forth a
new vibrant energy!
Jesus is the
Hope of mankind as God, His Heavenly Father wanted to end the world by Fire
because of Man’s corruption and evil ways. He sent Jesus into this world to
give Man a chance to turn to goodness from their evil ways and a chance to be
granted Eternal Life through the forgiveness of their sins, believing, having
faith in Jesus, that He is the Son of God, and renouncing Satan the evil one!
Yes,
the Bible states that after his baptism, Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into
the desert for forty days and nights, where he fasted and was tempted by Satan,
preparing him for his ministry and confronting evil. This period of testing,
detailed in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, involved Jesus resisting
temptations related to physical hunger, power, and worship, using scripture
to overcome them.
Key
Details of Jesus' 40 Days in the Desert:
- Led
by the Spirit: It wasn't Jesus' choice but the Spirit's guidance that took
him to the wilderness. - Fasting: He ate nothing for the entire 40 days,
though he likely drank water, a common practice for extended fasts. - Temptations: The devil tempted him with turning stones to
bread, throwing himself from the temple, and worshipping Satan for worldly
kingdoms. - Scriptural
Victory: Jesus overcame each
temptation by quoting scripture, affirming his reliance on God's word. - Symbolism: The number 40 signifies periods of trial and
preparation in biblical history (like Noah, Moses, and Israel's
wandering), marking this as a foundational moment of spiritual
triumph.

Jesus
overcame all these tribulations meant to keep Him from saving Mankind (You
& Me}!
How
much harder would it be if we as sinners, we who are addicted to drugs or
alcohol, or even those foods that destroy our bodies, minds, to overcome our
Addictions, Resurrect Our Lives and give us each a ‘Fresh Start’!
You,
I, We, can do it by believing in Jesus Christ, that He is the Son of God,
having faith in Him, His words, His Promise of Eternal Life.
Most
important: Know’, that when we call upon Him for Help, He will never abandon
us, as His love is Never-Ending and is Everlasting!
If you
decide to overcome whatever addiction problem that you have, follow the way
Jesus overcame all those tribulations put before Him!
Nothing
in life is easy, for if it’s easy it’s probably a temptation that will deter
you from whatever gift God has given to you to succeed in this life.
First,
ask Jesus to come into your life, ask for forgiveness of your sins, renounce
Satan, evil doers, and promise to follow the two Commandments that Jesus
said are the most important, the First Loving God with all your body, mind,
heart and soul. Second, loving your neighbor, others as you love yourself!
Take
time in your day to seclude yourself from all the distractions of your life, to
pray in your own words or simple prayers that you can read from the bible or
using Google to find them for you! Remember sometimes you will find yourself
overcome by the Spirit of Jesus Christ as you are praying in a crowded room,
mentally, but know that God is a mind reader, He knows that you are praying and
hears you!
Read
Scripture from the Bible or download it on your phone or computer and even
download prayers you might want to offer to Jesus Christ for His help in your
life!
Ask
your doctor if it’s okay for you to Fast for a twenty-four-hour period, One
Day, as fasting is a reboot of the Body and Our Mind!
It
clears, cleanses your mind of all those insignificant thoughts, trash, wants,
the evilness that surrounds us all, which always tries to take over our minds
and guide you in the wrong direction!
This
Life is a testing ground, a training ground teaching you that following,
believing, having faith in Jesus Christ will change your life forever. Knowing
that He loves you and that He will never abandon you, no matter how many wrongs
you have committed against yourself, family, others and even against the Lord
Himself!
Ask,
repent of your wrongs, and you shall be forgiven! You will have passed the
“Test of Training in This Life”, and have the Promise of Jesus Christ,
the only Insurance policy that Guarantees one Eternal Life rather than a sum of
money at your Eternal Death when this physical life has ended!
Let
Jesus Christ into your life to overcome all those obstacles that
are draining your life, well-being and whatever God given gift you have been
endowed with that can help not only you but help change the life of others! Visit:
