The Aquatic / Natural Area Herbicide Applicator will perform outdoor field operations associated with the treatment and inspection of lakes, ponds, canals, wetlands, natural areas and various waterways to control invasive plants. Work Duties: The majority of the work is conducted in lakes, wetlands, canals and natural areas throughout Florida. Application of herbicides is performed using spray boats, small all-terrain vehicles and backpack sprayers. Work also includes the identification and selective physical removal / treatment of nuisance and invasive plant species in lakes, preserves and wetlands. Knowledge of water quality, native fish and wildlife, and other lake or natural area restoration work is a plus. Work will involve the use of 4-wheel drive trucks, 4-wheel drive utility vehicles and transport of machinery and small boats, possible travel with overnight stays, and ability to carry heavy loads (< 40 lbs) while traversing uneven terrain. Associated Skills: 1+ year of experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of FLEPPC listed plants. Must be in good physical condition and enjoys working outdoors. Experience towing trailers preferred. Must have High School diploma at minimum. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
