All 1997 Type R models were finished in Championship White (NH-0), and features include Type R graphics, red Acura badging, a front spoiler, and a fixed rear wing. The Carfax notes damage reported between January 2006 and January 2007, and work in 2009 included repairing the right front fender and replacing the front spoiler. The seller notes the windshield was replaced in 2004, and that just the front and rear bumper covers maintain their original VIN stickers. Paint meter readings are displayed in the gallery.
White 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with 195/55 Kumho Ecsta ASX tires that show 2009 date codes. A space-saver spare is found in the trunk along with a jack. The Type R received larger-diameter disc brakes at each corner as well as a lower ride height when compared with the standard Integra.
The cabin houses seats trimmed in black micro-suede with cloth inserts and red stitching. The steering column and dash were replaced following a theft recovery in 2009, and the seller notes that the dash VIN is no longer present. Appointments include a CD stereo, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, and Type R-branded floor mats. A plaque on the center armrest identifies this Type R as #20 in the series.
A four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a tachometer with an 8,400-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level.
The 1.8-liter B18C5 DOHC inline-four features VTEC variable valve timing and was rated at 195 horsepower at 8k rpm and 130 lb-ft of torque when new. The timing belt, water pump, camshaft seal, and front crankshaft seal were replaced in December 2014 at 62k miles.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a close-ratio five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
