This is a 1986 Mercedes 560 SEC it started out life as a coupe in 1986 but in that year it was sent to Richard Strayman Coachworks in Costa Mesa, CA where he converted it into a convertible. He did one hundred and sixteen 560's from 1989 to 1991 for Mercedes production run of that model. It’s a very rare car. Richard Strayman was famous for converting cars into convertibles in Southern California. I guess they are pretty popular there. He did hundreds of Cadillac’s Eldorado’s. He was most famous for converting Camaro’s in southern California. He charged 20,000 dollars to convert Mercedes and the workmanship is excellent.
