Factory finished in Gulf Blue (6603), the car was repainted during the refurbishment and fitted with a replacement hood badge. The trim is said to have been rechromed, and exterior features include Hella headlights and fog lamps, a driver’s side-view mirror, and re-chromed bumperettes with overriders.
The 15” Lemmerz wheels have reportedly been re-chromed and mounted with 185-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The brake calipers were reportedly rebuilt during the refurbishment, and additional work at that time is said to have included the installation of a dual-circuit master cylinder along with replacement of the pads, lines, rotors, and wheel bearings. The car rides on Bilstein shocks with Elephant Racing spherical bushings and a 13mm sway bar. A full-size spare is found in the front storage area.
The cabin is said to have been reupholstered by Autos International of Escondido, California and features seats trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dashboard pad, door panels, and gray square-weave carpets protected by rubber mats. A scratch on the trim underneath the dash can be seen up-close in the gallery below.
A leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel from a Porsche 914 sits ahead of a body color-accented dash housing VDO instrumentation that includes an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and an auxiliary gauge. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 46k miles, a handful of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The removed steering wheel will accompany the vehicle.
The replacement blank case 1,720cc flat-four was installed during the refurbishment and reportedly features overhauled cylinder heads along with a polished and balanced crankshaft, twin Solex PII carburetors, 912-spec rods, forged pistons, Dura-Bar billet cylinders, a Neutech SX1 camshaft, a Pierburg fuel pump, and a CSP full-flow oil system with a remote screw-on oil filter.
