Styled under the supervision of GM styling chief Bill Mitchell, the pillarless coupe design includes a chrome spear on the hood, quad headlights, and chrome vent accents ahead of the rear wheels. The body was refinished in its factory color of Willow Mist (JJ) during prior ownership according to the selling dealer, who notes paint chipping on the edge of the driver’s door and quarter panel. Finish flaws are highlighted in the gallery below.
Staggered-width Ridler wheels feature polished lips and are mounted with 20″ Falken tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering and brakes.
Sandalwood (737) upholstery trims the interior, including the bucket seats, door panels, carpets, and dashboard and console trim. Cabin appointments include wood veneer accents on the center console and door panels, power window controls housed within the full-length armrests, a remote trunk release, air conditioning, and a Buick Sonomatic AM radio unit.
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer that indicates just under 1,400 miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 401ci “Wildcat 445” Nailhead V8 was factory rated at 325 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque when new, and it sends power to the rear wheels through a two-speed Turbine Drive automatic transmission.
