Temple Beth Or is a Reform Jewish synagogue serving about 125 member households in the northern Puget Sound region of Washington State. We are looking for an energetic Office Administrator to join our organization. The right candidate is someone who enjoys working with a wide variety of people, has excellent computer and organizational skills and can work independently. The person will be responsible for managing the Temple office; supporting both the Membership and Finance Committees; supporting facility and publication/communication activities and be the primary support person for our Rabbi.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manage the Office
o Answer phones; manage email and mail
o Supply inventory and ordering
o Prepare document/reports
o Supervise volunteers
• Finance Support
o Data entry
o Prepare payroll/invoice payments
o Deposits and tracking including dues and donations
o Prepare reports
• Membership Support
o Respond to request for general temple information and membership requests
o Process and forward new member applications
o Track/update membership information in member database
o Member communication around religious services and events
o Support special services and events
• Facilities
o Coordinate janitorial/custodial needs
o Supervise inventory and purchase of building supplies
• Publications/Communications
o Publish service bulletin for all services
o Assist Communications Chair as needed with updating material for website, electronic and paper newsletter
• Support Rabbi
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent phone skills and administrative assistant experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills – including data entry
• High standards for accuracy, honesty and confidentiality
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritize work
Job Type:
• 28 – 32 hours per week
• 4 or 5 days per week (Monday – Friday) negotiable
Salary: $18 - $20 hour
