GENERAL
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains
proficiency in operating a) cutting equipment and forming machines and b) punch
presses and assembly equipment to produce product that meets customer
specifications and O-Flex standards.
Must be able to meet all the quality standards of the position and be
able to maintain the production rate standards.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understands and complies with of
all operating instructions and procedures for forming machines, cutting
equipment, punch presses, assembly equipment and all related peripheral
equipment as it relates to producing quality parts for our customers.Properly installs tooling,
performs set-up of forming machines and correctly operates equipment to meet
all product standards of the work instructions.
Upon completion of a specific job, assists to ensure that all tooling
and materials are returned to proper location.Properly sets up cutting equipment
and all related peripheral items such as printers, and correctly operates
equipment to meet customer specifications.
Ensures that auto cutting equipment is operating at all times.Properly installs tooling dies in
small punch presses and set-up equipment according to work instructions.Monitors product quality checks as
outlined in work instructions and assists quality technicians and engineers to
determine root cause analysis and implement corrective actions and process
improvements.As
required, maintains proper SPC documentation, analyzes SPC data and make
machine corrections as appropriate to maintain product and process quality.As required, completes required
paper work relevant to production accounting.Responsible for maintaining all
assigned work areas in a clean and organized manner, free of any safety
hazards, properly stocked throughout the shift, with appropriate operating
instructions displayed during all production times.Responsible for moving finished
product into “staging area”.Responsible
to report any production problems to Supervisor immediately, either verbally in
emergencies or by writing issue on Problem Report Form for resolution by
appropriate personnel.Participates
in the continuous improvement efforts of the organization by direct involvement
in improving processes and reducing operating costs.Complies
with all directions of the Supervisor as required to meet customer
requirements.NON-ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works
on various Kaizen or 80 problem solving teams.EDUCATION,
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
At
a minimum, must be High School graduate with some college preferred.Must
be able to demonstrate basic math skills.2
years experience in operating manufacturing equipment preferred.Demonstrate ability to recognize safety hazards and work within the company’s safety
guidelines and policies.Must be capable of lifting and
moving heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds.Demonstrate
ability to work on multiple machines simultaneously.Must
be able to stand for long periods.Must
have working knowledge of micrometers, calipers, tape measures & hand toolsMust
be able to work independently using available instructions, but also must be a
Team Player.Must
demonstrate ability to learn new jobs skills and qualify in other jobs.
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS: Exerting
up to 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or
up to 10-25 lbs. of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up
to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Physical
demand requirements are in excess for Sedentary work.
