High Quality, Large Capacity, Expedition Grade "Viking Explorer" type 16 foot Fiberglass Canoe. Excellent Condition, only used sporadically on clear water Lake Como near Darby, Montana. Was Custom Built for my father's retirement by his factory staff from the Edo Western plant in S.L.C. Utah. Inherited by me, his son (34 year resident of Western Montana & licensed MT / ID whitewater & fly fishing guide no. 3941 in MT). This Canoe is still nearly new, well tended & predominantly stored indoors. It is designed for large volume rivers & lakes, possessing a FULL KEEL from bow to stern. Length - 16', Width at beam - 40 1/2" Depth at center between Front & Back seats - 14" Seats (Bench) Front - 8 3/4"x 32", Center - 8 3/4"x 37"fundamentalfisherman@msn.com, Back - 8 3/4"x 25", Rear Deck - 13"x 15 1/2" (201 sq in): good for a marine battery, gas can, misc. Stern Wall will accomodate an electric trolling or up to 7 hp gas motor. (i can provide a working electric motor & battery if appealing). There are 2 Heavy Duty Steel D-Ring Tie Downs on the back deck & 1 of the same on the Bow Head. I have paddled & used both type motors on this or an identical craft we had previously in Utah - that boat was loaned out then stolen from our friends home in the 1990s; hence this one being built about 1999 by my Dad's crew at the plant off an original mold. Therefore the workmanship & gel coating are well above average. This boat may contain Kevlar & some floatation foam in key areas, but i'm not sure as my father has passed. Either way, this is a Very Stable, Wide but Sleek, Large Capacity / High Volume, Big Family or Long Voyage, One of a Kind Canoe. It's the only Canoe I have ever felt comfortable fishing out of. I think it would be equally at home on the Missouri, or the Yukon, or some giant lake or river in Canada, Siberia or any Western USA lake one could drive to. Portaging, however, might take a younger team than I will ever again qualify for! This "Viking Explorer" is not an "artifact". This Craft represents the height of composite engineering, the likes of which may never be seen again... Come to think about it, Hunting out of such a stable, but stealthy Boat would be, well: "Awesome" Have pictures, check it out... thanks, Tony B.
