First Baptist Church will host an open house reception for a Silent Art Auction 2-4 p.m. Saturday February 3rd at 6050 Palm Coast Parkway. Acrylic, oils, photographs, pencil art, pastels, prints and quilts etc. will be up for auction.
All works at the exhibit to be auctioned off are donated by local professional and award winning artists, many of whom are members of the Flagler County Art League as well as some artists from other parts of the United States.
The public is invited to view the exhibit, enjoy refreshments and bid on a favorite piece.
All proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit the Orphan’s Heart International Missions in the Dominican Republic. A group of women and youth from the First Baptist Church will fly to the Dominican Republic in March to help build a home for a family in need , deliver supplies of clothing and hygiene items, and provide VBS for the children.
The Dominican Republic Missions project is to construct a community of one-hundred single family homes, a transformation center and a church plant. To date the community has 80 homes completed with only seven of those homes left to be sponsored! Building the home is just one small part of the ministry; the sponsorship program closed out the year 2016 with 37 children sponsored and today there is now a total of 104 children sponsored in in the Dominican Republic.
