Housekeeping and Laundry Person - $18

Seasonal full-time and part-time house cleaners needed for a 16-room, owner-occupied motel with laundry room duties to include washing, drying and folding when not busy cleaning rooms. Sea Whale Motel located at 150 Aquidneck Ave. in Middletown/Newport East. Busy during high season as we are walking distance to First Beach. Motel open APRIL THROUGH OCTOBER. Prefer employees live on the Island and have some hotel cleaning experience, but not necessarily a must. Should have your own vehicle and cell for either of these positions. Flexible hours are key and are negotiable but weekends are a must. General duties include gathering cleaning supplies, entering assigned guest rooms following access procedures and ensuring vacant before entering, change/replace dirty towels/linens, make beds, clean/sanitize bathrooms, restock rooms with new supplies, check all lights and appliances in rooms to ensure they are clean and working properly, remove trash, dust/polish, vacuum, spot clean carpet stains and remove wall marks. Check all drawers and under beds when guests check out. Keep clean and clear the outside sitting area of each room, including deck area. Report any room or maintenance issues in or outside of rooms. Remove trash from bins and recycle accordingly. Job duties include bending, kneeling, standing for periods at a time, climbing stairs. May include light lifting. $18/hr (gross) + tips.
