We use the latest technology for coordination of drawings, RFIs, project correspondence, and scheduling, as well as providing comprehensive BIM Modeling and MEP coordination services. With computerized estimating, load analysis, and fabricating equipment, we are capable of bidding projects quickly and accurately. Hermanson is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Workplace Job Description The Billing Accountant role at Hermanson serves as the primary point of contact for project related billing questions and issues. Processes billings, interprets contract language to job cost and financial system software; manages accounts receivable and collections. Provides top-level customer service for both internal and external customers. Reports to the Controller. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs preliminary preparation of billing information, review of all Project Manager-prepared documentation, including schedule of values, for completeness and adequacy, and facilitates business system software job costing setup to match contractual requirements for billings. Enters accounts receivable (A/R) invoices into business system software and produces all billing documents. Produces all A/R reports related to billings and maintains all related A/R files. Keeps up-to-date reconciliation of electronic (from customer) contract amount, system contract amount, billed amount by project. Produces billings in a timely manner, designed to meet our client’s requirements. Assists in support for all project billing audits; gathering information, comparing billed values to cost, preparing other analysis as needed Executes lien releases in conformance with customer guidelines, support production of insurance documentation and prevailing wage information as required. Calls, mails, and/or emails correspondence to customers, as necessary in order to keep accounts current. Routinely reviews customer aging reports in detail and follows up with customer via telephone calls/emails to facilitate our collection terms. Prepares analysis of general ledger accounts, as required. QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above-named essential duties satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Two year Associates Degree in Accounting preferred. Construction industry experience strongly preferred. Intermediate level knowledge of MS Office including MS Excel required. Sage 300 Construction & Real Estate software experience preferred but not required. LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business contracts, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations required. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals required. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public required. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to apply advanced mathematical concepts and communicate interpretations to others required; basic accounting skills. OTHER SKILLSHigh level ability to operate a personal computer using MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook; copy machine, business accounting software required. REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. This position calls for someone who is flexible and able to handle a varying workload. A strong candidate would be one who can identify areas of need, apply administrative skill and trouble shoot problems within scope of responsibility.
